Banning the import of black Tshirts is - in the scheme of evil things to do, low on the rankings. However, we felt it would be fair to thumb our nose at the Chinese government's oppressive policies toward Hong Kong by sending some of our very best - in black. And so, in late October, we designed a graphic and printed small batches as a token of friendship and solidarity to gift to the people of Hong Kong fighting for their freedom. We went online to recruit friendly parties to receive our gifts and coordinate the shipments to Hong Kong, in our wilful defiance of the ban on black garments imported into HK.
To some, this may seem like publicity stunt. But to us, it was a personal moment we wanted to commemorate. Our design incorporates a little bit of America's flavor of liberty and Hong Kong's own revolutionary style borne out of necessity.
We may be a small Tshirt company few have heard of, but we wanted to show a few in Hong Kong that America stands with them, and not every USA-based corporate entity walks on eggshells around the Chinese Communist Party.
We're proud to say we successfully landed in Hong Kong and have been well received.
